I started my dental nursing career in 1994 in a mixed private and NHS practice in Newport, Pembrokeshire. I qualified as a dental nurse in 1996.
In 2003 I moved to the Rhondda Valleys and took a position in the Dental Hospital in Cardiff. I quickly progressed to Senior Dental Nurse for the Peripheral Hospital Dental Service in Cardiff. I really enjoyed the variety this post gave me and I gained experience working with patients with a variety of different needs and challenges across several hospitals, including acquired brain injuries, forensic wards, stroke patients, oncology and secure units to name a few.
After having my youngest daughter, I decided I needed to work closer to home, so in 2008 I joined the Community Dental Service in the Rhondda Valleys. This again opened up new opportunities, which included working in General Anaesthetics, paediatric dentistry and providing dental care to the house bound, as well as routine dentistry in the community clinics.
I moved to the Cotswolds in 2014 to spend more time with my grandchildren, and became Practice manager for a local private dental practice.
I then decided it was time to get back to my love of dental nursing, so in August 2020 I joined Caroline and her lovely team!
In my spare time I like gardening, spending time with our playful parrot, Bella and walking my dog Skip.
